April 2006

Your Board would like to bring you up-to-date on what we have been doing for our community. First we would like to thank everyone for the e-mails we have received, and for talking with us in person. It is good to hear from you. For those of you who may not remember, our e-mail address is: nashborogreens@yahoo.com. We hope you have also visited our website.

By now everyone should have had their addresses changed to reflect our new street names and numbers. The street sign is up so we can now be found more easily. If you have not done so, please be sure to call the BellSouth (615-557-6500) so they can alert 911. This could be critical if you have any emergency and call 911. 911 gets your address from the telephone company, and if you haven’t contacted the phone company with your new address 911 emergency will be sent to Longhunter Court.

Jim Curley Properties has hired Shacklett Decorating Company to pressure wash and paint the condos from numbers 100 through 141, this should be starting soon. You will receive a notice when this work will be started on your condo. Next year the next section of condos will be done.

Now is the time of the year when many of us want to work in the flower gardens in front of our condos. Remember, in accordance with our CCRs if you want to make any major changes, you need to send these changes to Jim Curley Properties for approval. Vegetables planted in your flower gardens are not approved.

New street lights for Phase Two have run into a snag. We have plans for two lights to be installed. However, our developer did not allow for additional lighting so it is going to cost us a lot more to have them installed. Jim Curley Properties is working with NES to see what our options are.

Parking continues to be a problem. Our visitor parking spaces are still being used by residents which is against the CCRs. The Board thought they had come up with a solution by leasing a number of visitor spaces, but at the Annual Meeting we were told the majority of the residents did not want this. We asked for recommendations from you and received none. So we are going to follow the CCRs, as we are required to do. Soon you will see in the visitor parking spaces signs that say “Visitor Parking Only, All Others Will be Towed”. And we will begin to have cars towed from the visitor parking spaces. This is not a unique problem for The Greens. We have researched other condo complexes and have found they also have this problem and they are following the same CCR rules and regulations. It has been noticed that some are parking on the yard. This has to stop! Any damage to the yard in front of your condo caused by parking will have to be paid for by the condo owner, and your car will be towed.

The biggest complaint from our residents is pet droppings. Please, please, if you have a pet pick up after it! Not only have we received complaints about dog droppings in yards, but also by the mail boxes and in the street. This does not paint a very pretty picture of our community. There is a city ordinance which dictates that pet owners are to clean up after their dogs in public areas.
We are planning a neighborhood picnic again this year. It is being planned for the end of Summer, in September. It was felt it would be cooler and vacations would be over by then. More information will be available as the time draws nearer.

The final thing we need to bring you up-to-date on is the closing of the street at the top of the hill. This will not be happening. As soon as the construction is completed in Fairway Point the street will have to be opened. Why? Because we are a Planned Unit Development (PUD). So in order to close the street we would have to have the PUD changed. Talk about costly! Then we discovered that even if we could afford it, two things would stop us from doing it anyway. First, Vastland would have to put a turn around on their side of the closure, which they refuse to do. Second, the fire department has refused to allow the closure because we don’t have enough room for a turn around. So closing the street is no longer an issue.

We have asked Jim Curley Properties to look into having a long and wide speed bump put at the top of the hill and one at the end of Phase One. We don’t want our neighborhood to become a speed zone for people using our street. This includes a couple of our own residents who do not adhere to the speed limit sign. Please, remember we have people who walk with and without pets and children who play. Please slow down.

We hope you have a wonderful Spring and Summer. Keep in touch with us either via e-mail or in person. Visit our website at www.nashborogreens.com.
